Hanwha Aerospace and Poland’s Armament Agency signed a Sub-License Agreement related to the HOMAR-K program during MSPO 2026 in Kielce. The agreement covers the transfer to the Polish State Treasury of technical documentation and rights related to the production and assembly of selected spare parts for launcher modules.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Hanwha Aerospace by Boohwan Lee, CEO-designate of Hanwha Aerospace, while the Armament Agency was represented by Col. Robert Fromholz, Deputy Head of the Armament Agency.
The ceremony was also attended by senior representatives of the Armament Agency, Shin Sang-beom, President of the Defense Agency for Technology and Quality (DTaQ), and Jacek Cyrek, President & CEO of Hanwha Aerospace Europe.
The agreement defines the scope of technical documentation and rights to be transferred by Hanwha Aerospace to the Polish State Treasury in connection with the implementation of the HOMAR-K program. It therefore marks another step in the localization of the system and lays the foundation for the further development in Poland of capabilities related to its production, assembly and long-term through-life support.
The next step will be the transfer of the relevant rights and documentation to Polish industry under separate agreements concluded by the Armament Agency. This will enable the gradual expansion of the involvement of Polish companies in the HOMAR-K program.
The planned scope of further localization includes the potential production in Poland of hundreds of types of selected spare parts for the Polish Armed Forces and other users of the K239 Chunmoo system.
An important element of this process is also the development of capabilities enabling HOMAR-K to use Polish-made 122 mm rockets. Plans include the development and production of transport and launch containers for 122 mm rockets, enabling HOMAR-K launchers to fire this type of ammunition, which is currently also used by other Polish rocket artillery systems.

It paves the way for Poland to expand the scope of technology transfer and the production of additional system components. Particularly important is the opportunity to develop and manufacture containers for 122 mm rockets, allowing us to make even greater use of the capabilities of Polish industry,” said Boohwan Lee, CEO-designate of Hanwha Aerospace.
Further Development of the HOMAR-K Program
The HOMAR-K program provides for the acquisition by the Polish Armed Forces of a total of 290 launchers – 218 under the first executive contract and a further 72 under the contract signed on April 24, 2024. The launcher modules are integrated with Polish-made Jelcz chassis and domestically developed command-and-control and communications systems.
The Sub-License Agreement is another element in the gradual expansion of Polish industry’s involvement in the program. It complements earlier efforts related both to the integration of the launchers in Poland and to the development of local production and support capabilities.
An important milestone in this process was the agreement signed on December 29, 2025, covering the production of CGR-080 guided rockets in Poland, including the construction of a production facility and technology transfer. The current agreement extends the localization process into further areas related to launcher modules, spare parts production and long-term through-life support of the system.
HOMAR-K is the Polish variant of the K239 Chunmoo system developed by Hanwha Aerospace. The system can employ different types of guided rockets and missiles, including 239 mm guided rockets with a range of approximately 80 km and tactical guided missiles with a range of approximately 290 km.
